My theatre journey began with my first pit orchestra performance in high school. At the time, I only played viola, but my school didn't have enough violinists for their production of Fiddler on the Roof, so I volunteered to learn! Two years later, my senior show had neither viola nor violin in its pit, so this time, I learned electric bass!
During my undergraduate career at University of Delaware, I participated heavily in student theatre, doing up to 3-4 shows every semester. I branched out from pit, and got experience with stage management, pit direction, music direction, costumes, and even being in the cast! I also continued to play violin and electric bass for pit orchestras, culminating in two paid gigs with Wilmington Drama League during my senior year of college.
Now, I've moved to Colorado, and I'm starting to look for new theatre gigs. The lack of casual, student-run theatre organizations at CU has been a major challenge in getting involved, and I finally feel settled enough to reach out to local organizations.
If you're in need of a pit player or director, stage manager, or anything else, I kindly invite you to reach out! I'm happy to be involved however I can be.
