Hello! I'm Megan Englert, a PhD student in Information Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. My research focuses on computer science education, particularly investigating ways to improve student learning, engagement, and retention in introductory CS courses. I'm driven by a passion for making computer science accessible and enjoyable for everyone, and I believe that thoughtful curriculum design and effective teaching practices are key to achieving this goal.
My work explores various facets of CS education, from leveraging undergraduate teaching assistants to designing inclusive and supportive learning environments. I've had the opportunity to present my research at conferences like the Annual Conference on Innovation and Technology in Computer Science Education (ITiCSE) and the Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE). You can find a selection of my publications listed below, which reflect my commitment to evidence-based practices and the continuous improvement of CS education.
